Product Development – Team Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION

HV Group’s E-commerce Cluster is recruiting a Product Development Team Lead.

 

The Product Development Team Lead is the owner of the full product development lifecycle. He/She is responsible for identifying commercially viable product opportunities, building robust business cases, securing approval, and leading the end-to-end launch of new products on Amazon EU, UK and US marketplaces. Post-launch, the Team Lead partners with the assigned Ecommerce Sales resource to drive sales performance.

 

Key Responsibilities : 

 

Product Opportunity Identification

 

  • Conduct ongoing market research to identify product opportunities with strong demand, manageable competition, and attractive margins
  • Build and maintain a product opportunity pipeline for the cluster
  • Define and monitor category trends, seasonality, and competitive landscape
  • Use data tools (Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Brand Analytics etc.) to validate product opportunities

 

Business Case Development & Approval

 

  • Prepare detailed business cases including market sizing, competitive analysis, pricing strategy, cost of goods, and projected P&L
  • Present business cases to the General Manager for approval
  • Iterate on business cases based on feedback and incorporate risk mitigation strategies

 

Supplier Sourcing & Negotiation

 

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers (primarily via Alibaba, trade shows, or direct outreach)
  • Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, MOQ, lead times, payment terms, and quality standards
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure quality consistency and reliability

 

Product Development & Compliance

 

  • Define product specifications, packaging design briefs, and listing requirements
  • Coordinate with the Marketing/Graphics team to deliver packaging and listing assets
  • Ensure all products meet compliance requirements for the relevant marketplace (CE marking, UKCA, FCC, REACH, RoHS etc.) in coordination with the Compliance Officer
  • Manage sample review and product testing prior to mass production

 

Product Launch

 

  • Own the end-to-end launch plan for each new product including inventory readiness, listing go-live, and initial ad campaign kick-off
  • Coordinate with Ecommerce Sales and Procurement & Logistics teams to align on stock levels and launch timing
  • Monitor post-launch performance and work with Ecommerce Sales to optimise

 

P&L Ownership

 

  • Own the product and category P&L within the cluster
  • Monitor margin performance and recommend pricing or cost adjustments
  • Track product lifecycle and plan refresh or discontinuation as needed

 

Qualifications & Requirements : 

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field

 

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in product development, category management, or e-commerce
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon private label or wholesale product launches
  • Experience sourcing products from Asia (China, India, Vietnam) is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Amazon marketplace tools (Helium 10, Brand Analytics, Seller Central)

  • Strong negotiation skills with international suppliers
  • Ability to manage multiple product pipelines simultaneously
  • Good communication skills to collaborate across departments
