HV Group’s E-commerce Cluster is recruiting a Compliance Officer.
The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the business's products, operations, and commercial activities comply with all relevant regulatory, legal, and marketplace requirements across EU, UK and US markets. This role covers product compliance certifications, trademark portfolio management, and legal and regulatory compliance, acting as the primary point of contact for all compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Compliance
- Ensure all products sold on EU, UK and US Amazon marketplaces meet the applicable regulatory standards (CE marking, UKCA, FCC, RoHS, REACH, prop 65, etc.)
- Coordinate with Product Development Team Leads to include compliance requirements in product briefs from the outset
- Manage relationships with third-party testing laboratories and certification bodies
- Maintain a compliance calendar and ensure all certifications are current and renewed on time
- Monitor regulatory changes across EU, UK and US that may affect the product portfolio
Trademark Administration
- Manage the company's trademark portfolio across all relevant jurisdictions (EU, UK, US)
- Coordinate trademark registrations, renewals, and oppositions with external IP attorneys
- Monitor for trademark infringements and coordinate enforcement actions
- Register and manage the Amazon Brand Registry across all marketplaces
- Ensure all product listings correctly display trademark and IP notices
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the business operates in compliance with applicable e-commerce, consumer protection, and data protection regulations (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
- Review and advise on contracts with suppliers, 3PLs, and other commercial partners
- Manage product liability insurance requirements and ensure adequate coverage
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on regulatory matters as needed
- Prepare and maintain compliance documentation and audit trails
Qualifications & Requirements :
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field
- A qualification or certification in compliance, regulatory affairs, or intellectual property is an advantage
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role, preferably in consumer goods or e-commerce
- Experience with EU product safety regulations and Amazon compliance requirements
- Familiarity with trademark registration and management processes
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EU, UK and US product regulatory frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulations
- Strong organisational skills to manage a diverse compliance portfolio
- Good communication skills to advise stakeholders on compliance requirements
- Ability to work proactively and anticipate regulatory changes
